5.0 Meter Observa-DOME Drawings

Our 5.0 Meter Observa-DOME is considered the workhorse for both the serious amateur astronomer or College environment. With a clear aperture of 48 inches, it will easily accommodate Schmidt-Cassegrain type designs up to 1 Meter,  while allowing room for up to 8 persons inside. The 5.0 Meter Observa-DOME comes standard with an electric azimuth drive system, and manually operated shutters. Available options include: Electrically operated shutters, Fixed base angle ring, Matching cylindrical base assembly, Flat roof adapter, Power bars for shutter control, Neoprene insulation, and Exterior urethane paint.

For those wishing to take the next step, in terms of complete Computer Automation, Observa-DOME is developing a complete turn-key system. This system will provide a complete hardware and software interface to control both the telescope and Observa-DOME ( shutters and azimuth drive) together. This automation package will be made available as a factory installed option or field retrofit.
